UHMW-PE (Ultra High Molecular Weight) rod is ideal for bushings & bearings due to it low coefficient of friction, excellent abrasion resistance, and high impact strength. UHMW-PE rod is FDA compliant it is used in a wide variety of food and beverage applications such as rollers, sprockets, wheel, and rollers. UHMW-PE will not crack or break and has a broad temperature range (-450° to + 180° F). UHMW-PE rod is easy to machine, and reduced noise when replacing steel. UHMW-PE rod applications can be use in underwater applications, dry applications, and chemical applications. B.I.R.S. Machine has machined Tivar & Polyslick UHMW-PE rod for various applications in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Florida, and Tennessee.
