B.I.R.S. Machine & Supply distributes PTFE stainless steel-filled sheet, rod, tube, and machine components.

PTFE Stainless-filled has excellent wear resistance and remarkable deformation strengths (stiffness). Stainless-filled PTFE has high wear resistance, load bearing capability and better chemical resistance than bronze-filled PTFE. Stainless steel filled PTFE compounds are used for seats and seals requiring high heat and steam applications due to it low creep resistance. PTFE  
stainless-filled compound is also used in many applications involving food processing.

PTFE BRONZE sheet, rod & tube (B.I.R.S. Machine & Supply)

PTFE Bronze-Filled
B.I.R.S Machine & Supply distributes PTFE (Teflon®) Bronze-Filled sheet, rod, tube, wear strips & machined components.

PTFE Bronze-Filled is the most common metal filler and it is dark brown in color.  Bronze filler has excellent wear, creep resistance, and higher thermal conductivity that glass fiber with PTFE. Adding bronze in percentages of weigh between 40 and 60% can increase wear.  PTFE Bronze-filled has poor chemical resistance in the presence of acids and alkali. PTFE Bronze-Filled is 
machined and used in bearings at high speeds when shafts are not hardened. It is useful in applications with higher mechanical loads and higher speeds rubbing contact points where the bronze-filled supplies the strength and conductivity to carry away excess and unwanted heat. Used in hydraulic systems, superb for linear bearings, slides, guide ways, bearing rings, piston 
rings and wear pads in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana, and the rest of the industrial world. 

Not suited for electrical applications.
Certain chemicals attack bronze.

Cast Nylon Blue sheet, rod & tube


NYLON BLUE HT (CAST)

B.I.R.S. Machine & Supply distributor of Cast Nylon Blue sheet, plate, rod and tube.

Cast Nylon Blue HT has a heat stabilizer that retards the loss of physical properties as temperature increases. This allows the material to function at approximately 10% higher temperatures than standard grades; meaning Cast Nylon Blue HT operating at 

200° F will have approximately the same physical properties as a standard grade operating at 185° F. Maximum intermittent temperature for Cast Nylon Blue HT is 330° F and continuous 

operating temperature is 250° F (compared to 230° F for standard grades).
