TORLON® 7130 high strength carbon-filled Polyamide-imide

TORLON® 7130

B.I.R.S. Machine & Supply distributes high strength grade Torlon® 7130 rod, sheet & tube.

Torlon® 7130 is a 30% carbon fiber reinforced PAI resin. It has unparalleled performance in several key areas. Included is the highest stiffness and lowest coefficient of thermal expansion among plastics similar to steel. It has exceptional creep resistance and good fatigue resistance. The addition of carbon fiber makes Torlon® 7130 electrically and thermally conductive. Torlon®7130 wear resistance, heat dissipation and load carrying capability make Torlon® 7130 ideal for tribology applications. Its strength, stiffness and best in class fatigue resistance make it ideal for metal replacement parts, high temperature structural and wear components including landing gear bushings, aerospace parts, wear strips, shrouds, pistons, housings, sliding vanes, precision dowel pin guides and long wear chain bushings among others.

TORLON® 4203 high strength polyamide-imide (PAI)

TORLON® 4203

B.I.R.S. Machine & Supply distributes high strength grade Torlon® 4203
sheet, rod & tube.

Torlon® 4203 extruded PAI offers excellent compressive strength and the
highest elongation of the Torlon® grades. It also provides electrical
insulation and exceptional impact strength. This grade is commonly used
for electrical connectors and insulators due to its high dielectric strength.

Torlon® is the highest performing melt processable plastic. It has superior resistance to elevated temperatures. It is capable of performing under severe stress conditions at continuous temperatures to 500°F (260°C). Parts machined from Torlon® stock shapes provide greater compressive strength and higher impact resistance than most advanced engineering plastics. Its extremely low coefficient of linear thermal expansion and high creep resistance deliver excellent dimensional stability over its entire use range.

Torlon® 4203 is commonly used electrical connectors and insulators due to its high dielectric strength. It's ability to carry high loads over a broad temperature range makes it ideal for structural components such as linkages and seal rings. Torlon® 4203 is also an excellent choice for wear applications involving impact loading and abrasive wear.

TORLON® 4435 bearing grade Polyamide-imide (PAI)

TORLON® 4435

B.I.R.S. Machine & Supply distributes bearing grade Torlon® 4435 rod, sheet & tube.

Torlon® 4435 is a polyamide-imide resin specifically designed to provide exceptionally low wear performance in non-lubricated applications even at high pressure and velocity (PV) conditions. Not only is Torlon® 4435 particularly suited to application where lubrication is impossible or undesirable, it provides an additional margin of safety for lubricated systems in the event that lubrication is lost.

The impressive flexural and compressive stiffness from cryogenic to elevated temperatures allows it to be used for demanding load-bearing applications. The low coefficient of thermal expansion provides the ability to meet close tolerances over a wide range of temperatures. Due to its electrically dissipative property, Torlon® 4435 also may be considered for anti-static functions.

Torlon® PAI has the highest strength and stiffness of any thermoplastic up to 275C (525F).

It has outstanding resistance to wear, creep and chemicals.

Specific applications where Torlon® 4435 may be used are pistons, clutch rollers, bushings, bobbins, sliding vanes, seal rings and thrust washers.
